Abstract
This article presents a research, the aim of which is to reveal the possibilities of the project method in training (development) the subject competencies (ability to interpret, arrange and evaluate music) of future music educators. Possibilities of application of the project method in studying the music subjects in a higher school were verified by pedagogical experiment. In this article are pointed the most significant future music teachers subject competencies development directions: stimulation of students’ creative self-expression, development of the ability to interpret, arrange and evaluate music originally, variously and expressively. Application of the project method involving the students into creative activities and it is an important factor of development the subject competencies in training music teachers. The results of pedagogical experiment organized in this directions showed that in the experimental group the students’ music activity (interpreting, arranging and evaluating music) became more expressive, various, original. Students find it more difficult activity – to arrange and improvise music. The analysis of the research showed that university students’ function are changing from passive information receiver to creative activity on his / her own. The conclusion was made that during music teachers subject training a project method is an efficient way for development of subject competencies (ability to interpret, arrange and evaluate music) of future music educators.
